I am a literary translator from English into Italian with over 20 years experience. I specialise in fiction, children's literature, lifestyle, tourism, journalistic, subtitling and any type of translation that requires a particular flair. I have translated over 150 published books.
As an author, I have written a number of gift and quotations books for the Italian publishers Sperling & Kupfer, Piemme, and Salani. One of them, Baci Baci, reached the best-sellers list.
As a scholar (PhD in Classics) I have published translations with commentary and notes from Greek and Latin authors (Plutarch, Psellos, Lucian, Nigel of Longchamps) for the Italian publishers Garzanti, Rizzoli, Marsilio. I have also published papers for academic journals and collections of conference papers (for instance in Plutarch and his Intellectual Work, published by Duckworth).
In 2007 I won an award at the LericiPea literary awards, and was invited to join the Italian Pen Club. I am still a member and contribute to their monthly magazine.
I have recently started writing illustrated chapbooks for the publisher Sampson Low.
